Bukhosi Mangena in Beitbridge
CASTLE Premier Soccer League side Tsholotsho FC yesterday officially unveiled Dulivhadzimu Stadium as their new base for the 2017 premier league season with a friendly match against fellow top flight side Triangle FC which ended in a goalless draw.

Iziqholo Ze Zhwane started their debut top flight using Barbourfields, White City and Luveve in Bulawayo but were forced to move to the border town of Beitbridge after Border Strikers were relegated to Division One.

However, the team will be shuttling between Bulawayo and Beitbridge as they are only allowed to train twice at the match venue before official games. Tsholotsho will travel for matches on Thursdays and play their games on Saturdays and then travel back to Bulawayo after fulfilling their fixtures as Beitbridge has no alternative training base.

Club chairman Mlamuli Phiri said their future in using Dulivhadzimu for the long run will be determined by many factors, chief among them being their financial backing.

“We have chosen to use Beitbridge as our base since it is vacant for now but our future will be decided by many factors like a sound financial backing. However, we will be travelling from Bulawayo due to logistical problems but once everything is sorted out we might move here fulltime,” he said.

The club will play Hwange FC in their first match of the season and their coach Farai Tawachera said he picked a lot of positives from the friendly match. He also said he had assembled a strong team that is going to compete for honours this season.

“We had a good game and all the players had a good run and judging from what I saw we are almost ready for the challenge.

We must just work on our attacking a bit in the final third,” he said.

Tsholotsho acquired the services of experienced Godfrey Mukambi formerly with Border Strikers and Canaan Nkomo who turned out for Chicken Inn.
