LAST Thursday, MultiChoice launched Yadah TV on to the DStv platform. The Zimbabwe-based religious channel will be available on DStv channel 281 on all bouquets.

The Harare-based Yadah TV is produced and run by Prophetic, Healing and Deliverance (PHD) Ministries, founded in 2012 and is under the leadership of Prophet Walter Magaya. The prophet is known for his annual Night of Turn-around over the past six years, with his 2017th gathering attracting 750 000 congregants.

He described his organisation not as a church but a ministry, made up of a Bible-based community of believers who gather together to worship God.

Prophet Magaya said the purpose of the TV station is to connect people with God and provide solutions in the comfort of their homes or wherever they are.

“The purpose of having Yadah TV is to meet the point of need that mankind has. It is also aimed at connecting with everyone so that their lives can be changed and never be the same again after they have experienced the power of the living God,” says Prophet Magaya.

MultiChoice Zimbabwe publicity and public relations manager, Liz Dziva said they were excited about the launch of Yadah TV. She said the launch of this television stations shows how MultiChoice has the needs of the people at heart.

“Yadah TV will be available on all DStv bouquets on channel 281. This is yet another way in which we show that we put our customers’ needs at the heart of everything that we do. We hope that this will be a welcome addition to the DStv line-up, especially for our Christian customers and those interested in our religious offering.”

The channel will screen highlights of activities and events that take place in PHD Ministries as well as services that are held throughout the week.
“Showing on this channel will be prayer line interviews as well as Prophet Magaya talking to and laying hands on individuals with conditions and illness and other negative situations. Testimonies of believers are also carried on the channel which will run 24/7,” she said.

PHD Ministries started with a congregation of about 140 people in Chitungwiza in 2012 and now attracts 120 000 people on a normal Sunday service, rising to 350 000 on special-event Sundays. Besides the TV channel, Prophet Magaya writes sermon books to help congregants and others to catch up with his teachings.
