SOME cope with heartbreaks by devouring tubs of ice cream, others take impromptu residencies at fast food outlets to pair buckets of tears with buckets of food.

Whatever the coping mechanism — junk food, solitude, exercise, tears, or travel, the bottom line is we have all been there.

Whether it’s referred to as a break-up, separation, “conscious uncoupling,” or divorce, the upshot is the same; the relationship has ended and a wave of emotions is bound to follow.

However, one young Njube lass found it easier to deal with her heartbreak by way of storytelling, which has turned her into a social media phenomenon.

Born Nolwandle Valery Nyoni, the 21-year-old has harnessed social media to turn it into a tool to tell different stories that are experienced by people in society.

Warmly known as Lwandle, she, to date has not yet published any form of memoir saying that she has a book ready for publication, which carries about 11 chapters. The only downside to getting her book published being financial constraints.

“I decided to use social media to get my work out there, with Facebook being the most preferred and used social media platform, it was easy to reach many people. Each and every day I submit a chapter for my followers to read. The page is about six months old.

“I got the idea from a certain lady I was following on the site, who too used to tell stories. So far I have at least almost 300 followers and the number is growing by the day,” said Lwandle.

She said when she began writing she used to share her stories on a WhatsApp group, which turned out to only reach a select few.

“I realised that social media is much more appealing to people than novels. With the latest tech people can afford to read on their phones than to carry a novel around. My stories talk of real life situations, I mostly focus on drama, crime and romance,” she said.

Lwandle added that she loved writing and that she wanted to become a full time author. I love writing and I wouldn’t mind taking it on full time. It’s a natural talent that I have and I have by myself nurtured it,” she said.

Lwandle added that she hoped to release a novel soon, as she had one accomplished book titled The Heartbreak, inspired by what she went through.

Below is a short chapter of her work:

THE HEARTBREAK
Love is kind, love is faithful, love is patient, love is forgiving, love is not selfish and God is love. I never knew what love was until I met Musa Dube. My name is Angellah Moyo and this is my story . . . Sometime in June I got a friend request on

Facebook, truth is I was in a competition with my friend on getting as many Facebook friends as possible and I was aiming on getting at least 3 000 friends so I didn’t mind who I was accepting, I just accepted, not even doing a back ground check.

The thing is if you are a beautiful girl like me, most friend requests will be from males and so after accepting them the next step is usually getting your number through Facebook messenger but the problem is I did not reply my Facebook messages, that was a total NO NO for me.

So it happens one day am just going through my Facebook and I found myself going through my messages (oh I would go through them but not reply) and it so happened that I opened one from a Musa Dube who was complimenting my pictures and to my surprise l replied saying thank you (heh kanti sengiziqalele okunye). July 24 he sends a funny clip that I watched and did not reply but my heart was not at ease I wanted to reply, I just told myself let him text again then I will reply (Girl wanted him to work for it lol) . . . aww he did text after 4 days sengize ngakhohlwa ngaye.

Musa: Can I know you better Angie?
Angie: Lol, how better (I replied)
Musa: May I have your number?
Angie:
Lol, that’s how the conversation ended and I waited for him to text me back again but he never did for several days and I forgot about him.
*FEW DAYS LATER*
Musa: Hey still not interested in sharing numbers?
Angie: 0772******
Musa: THANK YOU.
