HELL hath no fury like a woman scorned.
This English adage aptly sums up a legal storm which is brewing between an estranged Zion Church Leader, Bishop David Peresu’s daughter and her South Africa- based ex-boyfriend over property ownership after the former confiscated the latter’s car and property for allegedly refusing to marry her.

It is alleged that the Bishop’s daughter Ms Betty Peresu (45) and her ex-boyfriend Mr Clinic Chadira (38) engaged about two years ago and the two were set to marry sometime last year.

However, the two separated after Mr Chadira, who was apparently married to another woman in South Africa, discovered that Ms Peresu had a complicated health condition which she had been reluctant to disclose to him.

Mr Chadira told Sunday News that the two started having problems when the woman also discovered that he was married to another woman.

“We dated for about two years and I asked her to marry me.  However, I found out that she had a complicated health condition which did not allow us to marry. I then decided to break up with her. It was when we broke up that she confiscated my vehicle and sold all the groceries and other goods in my shop which I was operating in Bikita,” he said.

Mr Chadira said he got an anonymous call from a relative that Ms Peresu had confiscated the vehicle and sold all the goods in the grocery shop he was operating.

“I was informed that Ms Peresu went to court and was granted the order to attach my property after a default judgment was passed. I was not issued with court summons and was not informed of the new developments. She went to the civil court where she sued me and she won the case,” he said.

Mr Chadira said he went to Gokwe Civil Court seeking an interdict.

“I have already taken remedial action against Ms Peresu. The matter is now before Gokwe Civil Court,” he said.

Ms Peresu’s mother, Ms Jane Mangena confirmed that her daughter and Mr Chadira were caught up in a property wrangle in which Mr Chadira was demanding his vehicle and money back which were taken by her daughter.

“Mr Chadira came to our homestead and caused a stir demanding his vehicle and money from my daughter. Police had to intervene after our relatives threatened to beat him up. He then went to Gokwe civil court where the matter will be heard,” she said.

Ms Peresu could not be reached for comment as she was said to be in Gokwe where she was set to appear before the civil court.
