Byo new suburb, Kings City, gets Compliance Certificate

The Sunday News

A NEW upmarket housing project is currently shaping up in Bulawayo after the land developer, Radar Properties was issued with a Compliance Certificate.

Compliance Certificate is issued when a development has done the required servicing of the development, to the required quality standards.

Servicing includes building tarred roads. Thompson Properties managing director Mr Jonathan Thompson said under the first sections, they have fully serviced the land.

“We have received our Compliance Certificate which is a great development for us. We have already sent quite a number of our buyers to the lawyers to start doing the conveyancing,” he said.

“The biggest downfall of developments is the Compliance Certificate, because if the developers are not getting the certificates, the buyers are not getting the Title Deeds and that just creates insecurity. We are therefore very pleased to announce that we have our Compliance Certificate in hand for the first section.”

Mr Thompson said the roads, drainage and water lines have been completed for the first and second sections, the servicing has now begun on the third section.  A.P. Glendinning is doing the servicing of these sections.

He said the second section has 198 stands, which are low density stands with a school, shopping centre and church.

The second section is now completed. Mr Thompson said the first buyers that have finished paying for their stands are already in the processes of getting their Title Deeds.

“We’re so excited with the things that are happening to our development, quality work being done in a first world way. We have stands available from 2 000 up to nearly 6 000 square metres, sales have gone very well,” he said.

“We have sold over two thirds of the developed stands. We are happy to be involved as a professional real estate company working with a professional development team to provide professional service.”

Mr Thompson said one of the reasons they focused on property development is because of a number of incomplete developments in Bulawayo, some of which date back to 20 years.

Kings City is a 5000-acre residential development, it is going to have multiple schools, hospital, shopping malls, a light industrial area, medium density in the future, and low density stands available now, quality roads, and quality drainage. The project when fully complete will see up to 9 000 stands having been completed.

Mr Thompson said that the project is going to be about nine times the size of Bulawayo’s city centre and is set to lure a lot of people back into the city.

“The land is owned by Radar Properties, which decided to develop an upper class premier residential development.

Macdonald Bricks is ramping up activity at the factory to start producing bricks for people who will start building, they have refurbished the factory and they are ready to ramp up things there as well, this is amazing,” he said. — Advertorial
