“On 11 June around 7AM, Naison went to Energy’s homestead in a bid to solve an issue between Energy and his aunt but a misunderstanding ensued. Energy picked up a mopane log and struck his father once on the head, once on the hip and once on the collarbone. Naison was heard crying out for help by his seven-year-old granddaughter and his wife Violet Tsuuka (57) who rushed to the house and found Naison kneeling on the ground bleeding from the head covered in dry mopane leaves,” he said.

Insp Dhewa said Nelson was rushed to Chizvirizvi Clinic where he died before he could be transferred to Chiredzi General Hospital. A report was made to the police leading to the arrest of Energy who was found hiding in a nearby bush. – Sharon Chimenya, Masvingo Correspondent.
