Just because i am a woman

The Sunday News

TODAY I extend my love to every mother because “Bomama lizimbokodo” married, single, widowed, or divorced, some with children and some without all are beloved of God, and He has a plan for His righteous daughters to receive the highest blessings of eternity. This one is for you.

Adam states that he will call the woman Eve. And why does he call her Eve? “Because she [is] the mother of all living.” (Genesis 3 vs 20). Eve was given the identity of “the mother of all living” years, decades, perhaps centuries before she ever bore a child (well I am just saying). It would appear that her motherhood preceeded her maternity, just as surely as the perfection of the garden preceded the struggles of mortality. I believe mother is one of those very carefully chosen words, one of those rich words with meaning after meaning after meaning, endless meaning.

We must not, at all costs, let that word lose its meaning, it should be respected and given honour at all costs. I believe with all my heart that it is first and foremost a statement about our nature, not a head count of our children, some women give birth and raise children but never “mother” them. Others, whom I love with all my heart, “mother” all their lives but have never given birth. All of us are Eve’s daughters, whether we are married or single, maternal or barren. Motherhood is not merely defined by the bearing and raising of children but is rather a statement regarding the divine nature of women. All women, whether or not they bear children, can fulfill the role of mothers. The work they do should also be remembered as we celebrate Mother’s Day.

While women live in homes under many different circumstances among the blessings of each of our lives, mothers should hold a special place of honour. A couple of days ago I had a chat with a couple of friends as we commented on a certain link on facebook it got us talking about mothers and it just reminded me of the things that happened around me and YES I respect all mothers because the most important thing in a mother’s life is that her children are safe, healthy, happy, sheltered, clothed and well fed and believe me a woman will do anything just to take care of her children. That is what mothers want most out of life, they will sacrifice their own needs and desires to see their children have a good life. There is no one perfect way to be a good mother, what matters is that a mother loves her children deeply.

Mother’s day is a wonderful time to celebrate these women who work so hard and are with us every step of the way, let each of us take a moment to honour and respect motherhood. I am blessed because I have the most amazing mothers in this world and for me that is a blessing on its own, I could never trade them for anything in the world. It means more than just the honouring of those who have borne children. It is the celebration of motherhood, the divine nature of women.

As with most holidays, Mother’s Day comes only once a year. Make it special for her, and it will come back to you. There is something beyond words to express to the person who helped you to walk and talk, who gave you your first feed, who helped you with school, and who gave you all the love she possibly could. Show her you care by acknowledging her value in your life and if you don’t have your mom around do not feel sad celebrate her still, let the memories live again today.

It is my prayer that we feel a deeper appreciation for the great blessing of motherhood not just when we celebrate Mother’s Day but every day! Happy mothers day to all the women out there, we love you always!

Because I am a woman I just want to express my love to all the mothers out there and say this to you ALL: There is no love like a mother’s love, no stronger bond on earth like the precious bond that comes to a mother when she gives birth.

A mother’s love is forever strong, never changing at all times and when her children need her the most she is always there and makes time. This I have seen from all the mothers I have surrounded myself with. God bless you ALL.
