WHAT started off as International Women’s Day celebrations turned into a personal attack on the First Family and senior Zanu-PF officials by controversial MDC -T national deputy organising secretary in the Youth Assembly, Miss Yvonne Musarurwa in Bulawayo yesterday.
Miss Musarurwa, who had taken to the podium to convey her solidarity Women’s Day Message at Stanley Square in Makokoba, took a sudden turn when she screamed unprintable words directed at the First Lady, Dr Grace Mugabe.

She also took a swipe at Zanu-PF Politburo member and Minister of Higher and Tertiary Education, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri.

Miss Musarurwa also accused the Central Intelligence Organisation (CIO) and Zanu-PF of abducting journalist and activist Itai Dzamara.

“Ndinorwadziwa nekuti ana mai vedu vakaona zvakakodzera kuti mumatumbu mavo mubude mwana mukomana anonzi Itai Dzamara. Zanu ikaona zvakakodzera ne CIO ikamutora musi weMonday kusvika nanhasi hasati awonekwa,” she said.

Dzamara went missing last week and a High Court judge has since ordered the State to launch a search.
Miss Musarurwa also spoke about fired former Vice President Joice Mujuru whom she accused of “burning people in Dotito”. She said despite her shenanigans, Dr Mujuru should have maintained her post as the only female VP.

“Even though Joice Mujuru riribenzi zvaro richipisira vana vedu mudzimba ku Dotito uko hazvina hazvo mhosva anga angoriwo Vice-President ayingogara ipapo. Anebenzi nderake, rikadzana unopururudza,” she said.

Miss Musarurwa made headlines in May 2011 when she was arrested together with 28 MDC members over the murder of Inspector Petros Mutedza at a beer hall in Glen View, Harare.
