ZIM has got talent, says up-and -coming Zimbabwean rapper, Mlungisi Dombo aka Mlue Jay who is based in South Africa.

Mlue Jay, who started rapping in 2008 in Magwegwe West, Bulawayo is now in Johannesburg where is studying sound engineering to improve his art to consolidate his staying power in the entertainment industry.

Mlue jay has a single titled Blow up, which he produced and has been receiving airplay on Metro FM and Khaya FM. In an interview with Sunday Life, Mlue Jay (20) revealed that rubbing shoulders with South African high rated rappers was just but a gateway to his seemingly bright future in the hip-hop music industry.

“I recently featured with one of the South African artiste, Smallz Money Make, on his piece So Dangerous, which is buzzing the South African airwaves and it has been a game changer for me because here in SA almost every club is playing it,” he said, adding that:” The song So Dangerous by Smallz featuring Mlue jay is a hit single for summer which was produced by our very own 89 musiq from Zimbabwe.

“On my Blow up, I featured Smallz, the Guy who did Money maker; Ngyakwenza Konke, from Afro entertainment, a big stable that is owned by DJ Tira but he is now under the label ST Empire Entertainment that is owned by Trevor Nyathi,” he added.

Mlue Jay who believeshe is going to be a professional sound engineer, producer and rapper is confident about his music.

Mlu Jay is ambitious to make some collaborations with SA rappers and Zimbabwean legends.

“You should expect collaborations from Maestro IV, SWK, Benny Jonnes, Smallz Money Maker. I would also love to work with my fellow brothers POY, Cal_vin and the legendary Oliver Mtukudzi,” he said.

Mlue Jay revealed that he is not happy with the perceived beef or reality thereof and notoriety behaviour among rappers.

“All I can say to my fellow brothers and sisters is keep on working hard, let’s do quality music and market our stuff very well.

Rappers please let’s do music for the people not for another artiste, it won’t help us,” said Mlu Jay. – Joel Tsvakwi
