The Sunday News

FOR at least two months, Zimbabwe has been gripped by a cash crisis, but what has become worrying is that there seems to be no end to the problem.

The Reserve Bank of Zimbabwe has come up with explanations to this. Are explanations enough under the prevailing environment where some banks have become permanent queuing points even during mid-month.

There is definitely a need to come up with a solution to this. If introduction of bond notes is seen as the solution, then there is no need to delay when what people simply want is to have their money and use it.

Meanwhile, the Industrial index shed 0.02 points (0,02 percent) to close the week on Friday at 99.83 points on losses in OK Zimbabwe which declined $0,0010 to close at $0,0330 and Innscor which dropped $0,0005 to $0,1915. Old Mutual was $0,0080 higher at $2,4805 and CFI Holdings gained $0,0030 to $0,0950

The Mining index was unchanged at 26.35 points. Bindura, Falgold, Hwange, and RioZim remained unchanged on previous price levels at $0,0120, $0,0055, $0,0300 and $0,1710 in that order.

The mining index was unchanged for the week.
