VICE-PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected in Bulawayo today where he will attend mass at the Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Cowdray Park and make donations worth $10 000 to the underprivileged before officiating at a $12 million mall groundbreaking ceremony in the same suburb.

The donations are courtesy of Sai Enterprises. The Vice-President will be attending mass on the invitation of the Holy Trinity priest Father Gilbert Moyo, who will be helping facilitating in the day’s programme.

“The VP will be attending mass which will also see him making donations to the underprivileged identified from churches among them the Roman Catholic Church, Salvation Army, Lutheran Church and Brethren in Christ Church,” said Sai Enterprises proprietor Mr Raj Modi at a Press conference last week.

Mr Modi said the identified beneficiaries would walk away with food hampers.

“Each beneficiary of the donation will walk away with food hampers from the $10 000 worth of goods. A total of $5 000 will be donated to the Holy Trinity Catholic Church, which was partly affected by a fire a few months ago,” said Mr Modi

The donations are courtesy of Sai Enterprises’ corporate social responsibility in Cowdray Park where they will be constructing a $12 million shopping mall which will see the creation of about 1 500 jobs.

“We are putting up a shopping mall in Cowdray Park. The ground breaking ceremony will take place on Sunday, the 9th of April. Honourable Vice-President Mnangagwa will be the guest of honour at the ground breaking ceremony to be attended by officials from the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the mayor and several other dignitaries,” said Mr Modi.

“We have invested about $12 million for the shopping mall that will have 49 shops and a main supermarket. The first phase of the proposed shopping mall will comprise the main supermarket whose construction is expected to be complete by the end of the year. The second phase of the project is expected to be complete by June next year,” said Mr Modi.
