You are great, believe it

TODAY’S teaching will be in a series of thoughts that we will merge together at the end to make you understand that you are great. Human beings are very complex. They are not easy to understand at all. Science has its good share of human life it cannot explain. They say they are still researching more. In truth, I would not hold my breath. Most religions resort to coming up with stories of how things became the way they are on earth. We Christians however, have the book that explains it all. The book of life. The Bible. Because of lack of understanding a lot of philosophers tend to say it does not make sense. Others say it contradicts itself. But the Bible does not contradict itself and makes perfect sense. Part of the reasons we humans are so difficult to understand is because we are created in God’s image and likeness. This means there are aspects of human beings that can only be understood when observed the way God would observe them and with the understanding that we are like him. We are exactly like God, just smaller. The Bible even says we are little gods.

Psalms 82:6

“I said, ‘You are ‘‘gods’’; you are all sons of the Most High.”

This means on a smaller scale we have the creative ability that God has. We too have the authority that God has, more so if we are in Christ. So we too are kings because our Father is a King. That is why he is called the King of kings. His children are kings, making him the King of kings. The Lord is truly great. Now hold the thought in your mind that you are a king while I illustrate the second thought.

I am a very curious person when it comes to understanding people’s beliefs. Beliefs are built by what you hear. If you heart is constantly pounded with negative thoughts, you tend to believe more in bad news and if your heart is constantly encouraged, you tend to be more positive in your thinking. I have come to notice that when someone strongly believes in something, it tends to seem true in their lives. If one is of the strong belief that they are have bad luck, the mind seems to magnify the times when they did not do well and overlook the billions of things they do well. In the long run this belief reflects on their self-esteem and you have a very negative person.

This kind of person has a very negative outlook on life. They give out negative energy. The opposite scenario is very true. If one is constantly told they are blessed, they will begin to believe that they are blessed. The mind will focus on the wonderful things that are around them and truly they feel very blessed thereby making them a person that thinks very highly of themselves. This kind of person will believe they are blessed and are very positive even when something bad happens. Such people receive bad news better. They always believe it is for a good reason and that it will not last forever. This alone therefore means it is important to take care of what you believe. Don’t sit and listen to all rubbish because the man saying it told you he is a prophet. Your heart stores up these things and you become what you hear.

Proverbs 4:23

Above all else, guard your heart, for it is the wellspring of life.

Your entire life is dependent on how strict you restrict entry into your heart. If you let everything said by people into it, it will grow in your heart and influence what you become. Hold that second thought too.

Now for the last thought consider this, as a man thinks, so is he. Everyone you see on the street including yourself is that way because of the way they think. The poor are poor because they have thought patterns that allow poverty to grow. The rich are that way because they have thought patterns that allow wealth to grow. This is regardless of how one grew up or exposure. That is why a man born in a poor family from the rural areas can be wealthy by the time he turns thirty and a child born in a rich family can be reduced to living in the street in the same time frame. It is never about who you are, it is always about how you use what you know. No one knows everything, so it is about utilising the little you know to the maximum in order to get the best results and doing it again and again until you reach your target. Let me give you an example of using knowledge. World works using single step system. This means the world says, if you want a particular thing, go straight after it. So according to the knowledge of the world, if you want sex, you go to a bar and just pay for it. The world says if you want a wife, you just choose the most beautiful women from those whose demands you can afford.

This is single step process. Going straight after the desired target. Unlike the world, God works using a multi-step system. For example, if you want a wife, you seek God. You want money, you increase in giving, you want to be a leader, you serve. This is the multi-step process because it seems as if you are going away from what you must be going after. Now single step and multi-step processes are both methods people use to obtain things they want.

But the choice is left to each individual on which one to take. If one is a wide searcher of knowledge he knows the disadvantages of each and the decision made is more informed.

The first thought is that you are a king because your father is a King, he created you that way. Yet this is very true, it is subject to what you choose to believe which is the second thought. If you choose to believe that you were born to eat and die, then rest assured your biggest achievement will be chewing, digesting and the rest of the process, despite you believing that you are the son of a King. What you then do about it depends on your thoughts. If your mind takes advantage of what is in the Bible to better your life, then you will do well. But if you think they are just stories read for us to feel good about a man that rose from the dead, then that is all it will be to you. Know you are a king, sift what you hear and allow only positive thoughts and force your mind to utilise what you know to better your life. You will make it without fail. Be blessed.
