KHALIPHILE Sibanda (23) affectionately known as “Khally” in music circles has released her entrance album in houz music titled Kalanga Child.

Riding high on confidence after she made it big in opera music, the self-proclaimed Bulawayo princess of opera, Khally said she had to fuse opera music with houz music.

“Basically I sing opera music but this time I mixed opera music with houz music just to come up with a different music flavour that is exceptional and am hoping I will receive positive results,” she said.

In her album she used different languages as she said in Zimbabwe we are spoilt for choice in languages we can use.

“In my songs I used different languages because in our country we have 16 official languages so I saw it as my duty since I am an artiste to promote them starting with Kalanga,” said Sibanda.

She revealed that in this album she collaborated with different artistes.

“In this album I collaborated with Sinazo being my music producer, Percy, DJ Dash and Gabz Fire.

“After working with such experienced guys I know my album is going to make headlines,” said Khally.

The 23-year-old singer said she has been there for a while in the music industry as she has helped other artistes in their projects

“I have worked with different artistes and helped them in their projects, for example there is Kadder a kwaito star in her album African,”, said Khaliphile.

She encourages other female artistes that nothing can stand in their way even though the music industry is mainly dominated by men.

“To all the female artistes the sky has never been a limit in achieving and getting what you want; you have to fight for what you believe in no matter the circumstances,” she said.

She added that she recorded her album at Percy Studio and in this album she loves all her tracks but “Amasoweto” is close to her heart.

“I recorded all my songs at Percy Studio and I love all my tracks but there is a special one to me which is called Amasoweto because I recorded it first from all the tracks, but people must expect fireworks in this album”, she said.
