HAVING been endorsed by a Harare-based cellphone and accessories company and a local clothing label, a new Bulawayo rapper aims at taking over the game.

Born Tapiwa Matarise popularly known by his stage name Six OH Shumba Dzacho, is soon to launch his debut album Kalife Kemabars, which basically is an interpretation of an artiste’s life, as he told Sunday Life in an interview recently.

“The album has 12 tracks and has collaborations with the likes of POY and MC Chita. I will be launching the album in August and I am sure that I will carve a niche for myself. So far I have managed to get an endorsement from a Harare-based company called Tatenda Zim, which deals in cellphones and accessories. Also here in Bulawayo a clothing label — CLIX dresses me,” he said.

Six OH said he was looking at performing in Victoria Falls, Harare, Zvishavane and Gweru.

“My rap is constructive, the music talks of many things that people can relate to. Songs on the album are in both English and vernacular language. So far I have done a video for a track titled Appreciate, which is dedicated to my mother,” he said.

Six OH has performed at gigs such as the Winter Carnival held on Friday, curtain raised for Trevor Dongo at Club 263.

He ventured into the game in 2006, after his cousin introduced him to rap and hip-hop.

“. . . After that the rest was history. I aim at working with more artistes to turn around our industry,” he said.
