EAGLE Life Assembly Church is fast becoming a popular church throughout the world, thanks to evangelism work and recently, Exodus, a free-to-air satellite television which was launched six months ago.

Exodus is also accessible through the Internet. Bulawayo-based Prophet Blessing Chiza is the founder of the church and his works have seen the church growing in leaps and bounds ever since it was formed.

It is the success of the church in the shortest period of its existence that has also seen the television channel getting enormous responses from as far as Botswana, Malawi, Zambia, South Africa, Nigeria, Ethiopia and Europe.

Speaking to Sunday Leisure, the chief executive officer of the television channel, Pastor Earnest Zichawo said the motive behind the establishment of Exodus channel was to spread the word of God to all nations.

Pastor Zichawo said it was him and Prophet Chiza who conceived the idea to establish the channel after realising the need to find other ways of spreading the Word of God to a wider audience across the globe.

“We decided to open Exodus television channel with the vision to win one billion souls for Christ and to provide Christians a channel to watch and we became the only Christian channel in Bulawayo. We want to take prophetic healing and deliverance to all nations,” said Pastor Zichawo.

Pastor Zichawo said the Exodus channel is different from other Christian channels that the public is used to seeing on air.

“Our channel Exodus is unique compared to other channels. In terms of programming, there are programmes that suit people from different regions around the world. For instance, we broadcast sports, Christian movies, documentaries, music and sermons of the Word. In our programmes there is use of different languages as we have people testifying in Ndebele, Shona, Tonga, and French. We even have a good picture quality,” said Pastor Zichawo.

Pastor Zichawo also said that the television channel was meant to assist the church to reach out to people who are far away.

“The television channel is helpful to people outside the country to access the gospel through their television sets. People don’t have to fly from one place to the next so as to get a preaching sermon, but can access it via the internet and television,” he said.

Two weeks ago, Eagle Life Assembly Church was named the first runner-up at the Southern Region Megafest Business Awards thanks to the TV channel. The church was founded by Blessing Chiza in 2011 and it is located just opposite Ross Camp Police Camp in Bulawayo.
