BURIAL arrangements for the late veteran journalist and nationalist Saul Gwakuba Ndlovu will be announced in due course as the family is deliberating on the matter.

Cde Ndlovu (87) died on Friday last week at the United Bulawayo Hospitals (UBH) where he had been admitted for a heart ailment. He had been taken ill for a while.

His nephew, Mr Leslie Gwindi, speaking on behalf of the family, said burial arrangements were still being deliberated on.

“The family is still consulting, we will have a position soon, tomorrow or Monday. There are quite a number of people outside the country and we want to see what movements they can make, if they are able to come for the funeral, so early next week we will have a clear position,” he said.

Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services Minister, Monica Mutsvangwa, who last met with Cde Ndlovu in Bulawayo last month during an appreciation dinner for veteran journalists said the nation was losing people that were trailblazers in the Zimbabwean media.

The late Cde Ndlovu penned a book with veteran historian Pathisa Nyathi entitled Zimbabwe Important Aspects Of Its Modern History-1888 to 1970. Mourners are gathered at the Ndlovu’s home, Number 16 Jungle Road, Trenance in Bulawayo. Cde Gwakuba Ndlovu is survived by a wife, Caroline, five children and eight grandchildren. — @NyembeziMu
