The issue of subject combination is often taken lightly yet it lays a foundation for career choice. Choosing a subject combination at Advanced Level takes more than just picking some three subjects that look attractive to you. It must be preceded by serious thought to establish what contribution you want to make to the world. You must establish what career foundation the subjects would help you lay. Indeed, your subject combination should be determined by the kind of career ambition you have. Subject choice is not a gamble but a conscious decision that enables you to shape up career destiny.

Why is it wise to pursue Information and Communication technologies (ICT) at Advanced Level?
The role of ICT in everyday life is becoming increasingly important as it allow us to develop new approaches to learning, life, work, consumption and leisure. Students are therefore encouraged to take computer skills courses for better advancement in this changing environment. The world is simply at Quaternary stage of production and this is where Zimbabwe and other third world countries are heading. This requires our children to learn and understand Information Systems. This can be achieved at Trust Academy in conjunction with Business and IT Department.
Why Trust Academy High School offer Supplementary Revision Classes for the Exam classes?
Trust Academy High School strongly believes that one secret to success in examinations is thorough preparation so at any one time all year round, there are supplementary revision classes going on. In January there are two Intakes, one for candidates preparing for the June examinations and another for the November examinations at both O and A-level. In June there also two other intakes for candidates preparing for similar examinations in subsequent periods. There are also intakes in March and September for students who want to specifically revise for their examinations in May/June and October/November respectively.
What is the importance of One-on-One Lessons for the students who want to supplement for subjects they didn’t do well?
At TAHS, we offer one-on-one lessons whereby the teacher can identify the individual student’s needs and delivers tuition to an individual student. Lessons can be adjusted to the student’s needs and any problems or difficulties the student will possibly have with matters can be pointed out and taken care of. Their strengths and weaknesses are addressed more consistently and fully without the competition of other students for the teacher’s time.
Why is there a need for family support for learning?
Trust Academy High School values working closely and mutually with parents to ensure that the performance of the children is monitored from both the home and school points. Furthermore, the school believes that the whereupon students are adequately monitored it is easy to learn problems hence take appropriate remedial measures where necessary. At TAHS we strongly believe that consistent parents’ involvement leads to improved communication and relations between parents, teachers and administrators. TAHS encourages parents to be courteous enough to advise the school if their child is unable to attend classes. In addition, parents are invited to share with the school head from the point of enrolling if there are any conditions about the child that the school must be advised of. This is because the school expects compulsory attendance to lessons as well as co-curricular activities.
What is the role of a learner in learning?
The learner is the one who finally gets into the examination room to prove that learning has taken place. It is therefore important that the learner plays his/her role and plays it well and effectively. This starts with regular school and lesson attendance, reading, revising and doing all assigned work. They need to be reminded that determination leads to success.
Weekend and After-school lessons
TAHS seeks to accommodate everyone who is interested in furthering their education. We offer evening and weekend classes for the convenience of our learners who are either working or stay outside Bulawayo. The weekend class also caters for learners who have challenges in certain subject areas and need extra attention either in a one-on-one learning arrangement or class.
Does TAHS accommodate adult learners?
There are people who think they are too old to learn. Our message as TAHS is that ukufunda kakupheli, anyone can learn at any stage in life. We provide tuition for all age groups and adult learners can learn at their own pace in a one-on-one set up or are grouped together as a class. We have a track record of learners who have joined these classes and have excelled in their studies and have proceeded to their career choices.
