WHEN everybody his age is singing about love and sex, Brian Nhira chooses to restore hope in the lives of many youths. Speaking at a radio interview with Star FM, the young and vibrant musician said people always remember artistes not for the message they are putting across through their music but their voice. He said he wanted people to remember him for the message that he is sharing through his music.

“We always remember artistes because if they have a brilliant voice but nothing else, there is no substance there. I feel like 20 years down the road someone is going to think far past my voice, far past anything else. My music therefore preaches hope to the people out there,” he said.

Brian said he believed in music that will make a difference in someone’s life. He said artistes should try and make music that has substance.

“When I think of artistes like Michael Jackson, what comes into my mind is songs like Heal the World that bring out the human nature side of things. These songs have such substance, they examine the different situations that the society is going through,” he said.

The artiste said his goal was to be celebrated for the lyrical content that he shares with the people. He said his hopes are not overshadowing the message that he intends to spread through his music.

The young artiste, who stunned judges recently at an American musical talent show, released his debut album titled Hope Stand which has 16 original songs that he wrote.

“I am so excited to introduce all of my new friends to my debut album. At the moment the album is available in the iTunes store and we are working on getting it in Apple music since it’s a new Apple feature,” he said.

At four years old his vocal ability began to show as he liked to sing a lot. Growing up, music has always been what he lives for and not just something he did during spare time. His passion for music has grown this far and has landed him this fame although he states that fame is not what he is gunning for but to spread the word of God.

Brian spent much of his early to mid- teen years sharpening his songwriting and vocal skills. In 2012 as a sophomore in college, at Oral Roberts University, he released an EP fittingly titled Hope EP. The writing, vocal performance, and production quality of the EP helped formally introduce him to the listening public as a singer/songwriter to watch for.
