THIS kid has mad skills! Qobo ‘DJ Q-K’ Skhonjwa, arguably the youngest DJ in Bulawayo, recently had an exclusive interview with Simba Jemwa on the show, 15 Minutes.
He is the son of renowned entertainer, comedian, DJ, radio personality, entrepreneur, and all-round socialite, Babongile Skhonjwa.
He is one of the youngest turntablists to ever tomes with the decks. The insanely talented Qobo joins a growing kids’ club of DJing hopefuls across the world. The Ndebele Rockstar’s son been DJing for a little over a year when most eight-years-old are playing with toy superheroes.
“I’ve been DJing for about a year now and I learnt everything I know from my father. I could be better than him already,” DJ Q-K said on the show.
And he thinks he can best South Africa’s Amapiano guru, DJ Kabza de Small! DJ Q-K could very well be the next is a bit of an internet sensation and his scratching skills could see the youngster upstage his father soon and very soon.
Few years from now, Bulawayo and the rest of the world’s party lovers are yet to witness an amazing talent that is going to make them dance until they cannot feel their feet.
In as much as he loves DJ Kabza de Small, he is ‘’de’’ real Small one but still does wonders with the decks.
Both in the entertainment and education circles, the young DJ’s future is undoubtedly illuminated. Apart from being an aspiring DJ, he is also book smart.
In an interview with Sunday life, Qobo said that his favorite subject is Maths which is has always been a vexation to many.
This explains why he can balance the sound and synchronise tracks in the decks the way he does.
