As the year begins, one needs as much encouragement and reassurance that the year will bring about change and success in their lives and Pastor Abel Dube’s album Ngizophumelela is just the album to listen to as it preaches a message of prosperity and success to anyone who listens to it.

The cheery title track of the album speaks of how God will help each of us succeed in their own right despite all odds. It is a tune that shies from the traditional gospel sound but is a cheery sound that one can dance along to while enjoying the message behind the beat.

The lyrics in both Ndebele and Kalanga make the song more relatable to a wider audience and the parts where Pastor Dube diverts from musical vocals to poetry during the song captures the listener’s attention.

Other songs in the album include, Prayer For Africa, which implores people within the continent to turn from their sinful ways and stand together in worship of the one true God, Siyashadisa, a merry wedding tune which glorifies the institute of marriage.

Recurring points of focus throughout the album are praise, worship and prosperity that Pastor Dube couples with his poetry skills and his backup band, The Royal Priesthood’s vocals and instruments.

Out of the twelve-track album, the song that stands out is Prayer For Zimbabwe which is a supplication for blessings over Zimbabwe as a nation as well as an encouragement to the general public of Zimbabwe to serve God without reservations.

“God bless Zimbabwe, God bless our leaders, God bless our nation”, sings the Pastor as he encourages service to God among Zimbabwean citizens.

Pastor Dube’s Ngizophumelela comes as his first studio album and is the work of three studios; Moonlight studios, Ingwe Studios and House of Rising Sounds.
