MIDFIELDER Mandlenkosi Gasela was yesterday named as Talen Vision Player of the Year at an awards ceremony held at Gifford High School in Bulawayo.

On this momentous event the club rewarded a number of its players for their sterling work during the 2018 soccer season. Veteran football administrator, Ndumiso Gumede was the guest of honour.

Other awards were the Goalkeeper of the Year which went to London Zulu, Gray Kufandada who found the back of the net 11 times during this season took home the Top Goal scorer gong while Kudzi Dzingwe was picked out as the Most Disciplined Player.

All the age group winners in their respective categories were each given a shield as testimony to the effort they put in taking the Talen Vision brand to the next level.

When asked about the target this season and whether they were met or not, Talen Vision chief executive officer Juma Phiri said other areas went as planned while others failed to meet the goals set.

“We partly achieved our objectives though we failed to earn the sole ticket into the Premier League, if we can continue from here next year we might make it. I would not like to blame anyone for our dip in form in certain games, hopefully next year we will return stronger,” said Phiri.
