The Zimbabwe Polocrosse team are ramping up their preparations for the Polocrosse World Cup set for next month.

The biggest polocrosse showcase is scheduled for Adina, Australia 22 to 28 April.

Team manager Leanne McBean said they hoped the practice session held in South Africa last week sharpened their skills as they aim to perform well in Adina.

The team was made up of players from Bulawayo where three members were picked alongside five from Harare.

Eight countries will be battling it out at the 80th edition of the Polocrosse World Cup with defending champions South Africa, last edition’s runner up Zambia, hosts Australia, United Kingdom, United States of America, Ireland, New Zealand and Zimbabwe taking part.

Zimbabwe achieved their best ever position at the 2011 edition when the team managed to reach the finals but lost. This time around the team will be banking on the Suzanne family connection of Dannie Swan, Sophie and Suzanne Sergeant as well as Vice-Captain Paula Sparrow to go all the way and clinch the World Cup.
