ALL is set for the 6th edition of Roil Bulawayo Arts Awards which is taking place next Saturday at the Large City Hall.
This year’s event will run under the tag theme #umkhulu Lo Msebenzi in honour of arts legend Cont Mhlanga who passed on this year.
In an interview with Sunday Life, one of the organisers of the awards, Nkululeko Nkala said the awards ceremony will have a lot of surprises for its guests as there would be a party after the awards night at the venue to try and keep the guests in the mood for the festive season.
“We have noted that many a times people want to party after the awards, thus this year we will host a mini after party at the venue,” said Nkala.

Nkala said although the Awards had been initially set to be held in November, moving them to December is proving to be a master stroke as they are also appealing to the Diaspora community who are in the country in their numbers for the festive season.
“The decision of moving the event to the month of December proves to be a great deal for the people from the Diaspora as they will get the opportunity to attend the awards and have a closer connect with their nominees unlike the other editions when they have had to watch the awards live on net or on television,” he said.

Like any other big event there might be a few hiccups in trying to bring everything together and make the glamourous event a success, but Nkala gave assurance that no matter what, the organisers of the Roil Bulawayo Awards 6 will bring nothing but the best to the people of the City of Bulawayo.
“It goes without saying that every event need finances to do things. But dark or blue the awards are on and we will put in our best foot forward,” he said.
