Deeper dimensions with God

The Sunday News

Greetings beloved nation. Psalms 42:1 Psalms 42:1, “As the deer pants for the water brooks, So pants my soul for You, O God.” In this season there is a cry in the heavens, God is making a demand on his church to enter into a deeper dimension of knowing him.

We see the Psalmist in Psalms 42:1 that his soul is thirsty like a deer that panteth for water brooks. The Psalmist knows that when his soul is thirsty, the only thing that can satisfy his soul is the presence of God.

In verse one we are seeing water as a stream. In verse seven,Psalms 42:7, “Deep calls unto deep at the noise of Your waterfalls; All Your waves and billows have gone over me.” We see water once again which was a stream and these waters have become waves, meaning they have become a river.

The bible is showing us a consistent picture of the Holy Spirit in verse one and seven. So the Holy Spirit is a consistent picture of deep waters. In John 7:38 Jesus says , “He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

The bible tells us in 1 Corinthians 2:10, “But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.”

So, we see that there is a call for the church of Lord Jesus Christ to enter into deeper dimensions, a call for depth of understanding in the things of God. We see that it is the work of the Holy Spirit to help us know the deeper things of God.

It is the Holy Spirit that ushers us in all things and even the deeper things of God. In the scripture, water speaks of (i) the Holy Spirit and (ii) it speaks of the word, the proceeding word of God. This is the level the psalmist was crying for in Psalms 42:7.

There are things that are found in the depth of the presence of God. We discover when we read the whole of Psalms 42 that the psalmist was surrounded by calamity, pain and his soul was discouraged.

He understood that in all his pain that he was going through, the only solution was to seek God in a deeper way because God cannot be found in a shallow place. He is found in a deeper place. One time Jesus in Luke 5:4 said to Peter after Peter had toiled the whole night without a catch, ‘ launch your net into the deep’.

After Peter launched his net into the deep there was an abundance of fish. The statement that Jesus told Peter was not just a statement, it was a message for the body of Christ. As we begin to partner with the Holy Spirit, he will usher us into the deeper things of God.

The end time church has neglected the ministry of the Holy Ghost, he is no longer important. We do all things and we do not give him his place.

That’s why as believers we are toiling in all areas because we are not ushered into the deeper things of God by the spirit of God. Ezekiel 47:3-5 says, “And when the man went out to the east with the line in his hand, he measured one thousand cubits, and he brought me through the waters; the water came up to my ankles.[4]Again he measured one thousand and brought me through the waters; the water came up to my knees.

Again he measured one thousand and brought me through; the water came up to my waist.[5]Again he measured one thousand, and it was a river that I could not cross; for the water was too deep, water in which one must swim, a river that could not be crossed.”

In Ezekiel 47:3 we see the measurement of water which was at the ankles.

In verse four, we see the measurement of water at knee level and then they were at the loins. In verse five, now we see the water has become a river which was big enough to swim in.

Then we see that the river is now surrounded by fishermen but it started at ankle deep, then the knees up to the loins.

Now the fishermen are enjoying the catch of different kinds of fish. The church is being called into deeper things of God. This is the place that will usher end time revival.

What happened to the days where young men, fathers and mothers would spend hours in the presence of God without anyone complaining or without anyone being in a rush to go somewhere else?

When we talk about deep calleth unto deep, we are talking about dimensions where God is being found. Not a surface relationship but a deeper relationship.

The bible tells us about Enoch in Genesis 5:21-24, “Enoch lived sixty-five years, and begot Methuselah. [22] After he begot Methuselah, Enoch walked with God three hundred years, and had sons and daughters. [23]

So all the days of Enoch were three hundred and sixty-five years.[24]And Enoch walked with God; and he was not, for God took him.”

This man had a hunger for the deeper things of God. We see Enoch walking with God, so meaning that their relationship was so deep that God decided to rapture him. He was a man that chased after God.

He had children but they were not a distraction to him. This is the dimension that God is calling us as believers to, in these end times.

It is my prayer that the hunger and a thirst for deeper dimensions of God may be stirred up in us by the spirit of God.

I would like to invite you to receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and saviour by believing in your heart and confessing with your mouth and you shall be saved. May God bless you all
