PRINCE ‘‘Puzzle P’’ has dropped a promising debut single titled Otshomi Betown which speaks about men’s hustles in the city for survival.
Puzzle P who was raised in Harare but relocated to the City of Kings in 2014 said he was determined to become a recognisable hip-hop supreme in the future as he extensively believed in his abilities.
“I have loved music for a few years; doing freestyles with friends and encouraging each other that one day we would have a breakthrough to the music industry. Chipman, who won an award last year, is one of my friends and his achievement motivated me to kick- start my career in music,” he said.
“The main problem that prevents many young artistes is lack of self-belief. Some of them, when they see the likes of Guluva performing on stage, are scared to death that the belief of performing alongside them will be a ridiculous idea. That is the first thing that young artistes need to work on,” he said.
Puzzle P also said that thriving artistes need to help upcoming artistes by giving them a chance to perform in their concerts so they can make their mark.
“Doing opening sets has benefited many artistes. Even those well established artistes also started their careers by opening concerts for renowned artistes. For instance, if Takura or GuluvaSeven is having a concert he can promote upcoming talented artistes by giving them the chance to do opening sets. Occasions like these will give potential superstars the exposure they need to have a breakthrough in the industry,” he said.
The promising superstar dedicated the song to every Zimbabwean who will find the song interesting, and also his friends who have supported him in recording his debut single.
“It’s my dream to see people loving my music. I will be perseverant and always remain ambitious so I can deliver projects that will be appreciated by fans. Every project I will drop will be dedicated to fans, friends and my family,” he said.
