HOSANNA Choir from Harvest House International Church (HHIC) Bulawayo are set to defend their title against 11 other groups at this year’s HHIC Clash of Hub Choirs competition.

The final being held at ZITF Hall 4 on August 28 will see groups of choirs singing their lungs out for Joyous Celebration’s Lindelani Mkhize, Pastor Charles Charamba and Rachel Chigwada who will be the judges.

Now in its third edition, the competition will see the contest’s inaugural winners Harvest Tabernacle Choir; Hub choirs from Mashonaland, Manicaland, Midlands, Masvingo Matabeleland, South Africa and Mashonaland Central; Harvest Aflame, Harvest Traiblazers, Worship Temple Unveiled competing for top honours.

Unlike last year where the winners — Hosanna Choir walked away with $50 000, no cash prize has been set aside for this year’s clash.

“There’s no prize money this year. Instead, there’s a floating trophy that’ll be given to the winners,” said Leonard Mupezani, organiser of the competition.

He said competition was going to be stiff as all choirs have been practising hard, especially last year’s winners who want to defend their title.

“This year’s edition promises to be a nail biting finale as last year’s champions, Hosanna are determined to defend their crown and maintain their bragging rights,” said Mupezani.

The HHIC Clash of Hub Choirs will be the grand finale of the annual Apostolic/Prophetic Conference that will start on August 25 and end on August 28. The conference is being held under the theme: “Loyalty and Disloyalty” with speakers — Bishop Colin Nyathi, Senior Reverend Dr Sarah Nyathi, Bishop Mosa Sono and Bishop Edwin M Ogoe.
