Introduction
THERE is too much focus on the need for finance or money capital if one decides to start a business. However, starting a business is like deciding on building a house in either low or high density. While they both need capital but what matters most is the foundation which in our view in the business world is not entirely finance capital but human capital. This bedrock capital we all need, whether one decides to start a big or small company. The following are the three main business insights for the week around the central business theme of human capital:

Business Insight 1
Human capital is made up of knowledge, ideas, insights, innovation, skills (K. I. I. I. S) which means knowledge you acquire from education and training, ideas, insights, innovative thinking and skills. This is what we need in running our business or in our personal careers while working in a company. If we lack this form of capital, we risk becoming a liability instead of an asset to our business let alone to the whole world.

Business Insight 2
It’s human capital and leadership, not finance or money capital which makes us to see and seize opportunities of interest and profit making, identify problems and propose true solutions to solve both financial and economic problems that negatively affect our business. If we lack in this form of capital then we cannot be strong financially or economically. Once again this is where great business leaders are winning in competition against others in the whole world.

Business Insight 3
The nation and its business including individuals should strive to be strong in human capital and leadership. This is where the nation and companies in Israel are winning against the rest in the world including Europe and the United States of America. Let us invest then as a country in strong human capital and capable wise leadership for our nation and its business, and then the rest will be history.

It should be noted that in the business world today it is now commonly accepted that the weak companies largely in human capital, not finance capital are crumbling and being erased from history while the strong both in human and finance capital are surviving even in the face of economic recession. It’s therefore the choice and decision of every entrepreneur to build a strong business company in our modern time and history that is equally strong in both human capital and finance capital in our country, Zimbabwe, be it small or big.
