When the economy of a country is in a compromised state, everyone tries to fend for his or her family and forgets about other people.

Leaders fly to other countries to look for food for their own families and neglect the rest of the people. However, it is pleasing that in Zimbabwe there are still people who are prepared to support other people during trying times. This refers specifically to the President Mnangagwa who continues to do wonderful things for the people of Zimbabwe during a time when the economy has some challenges. This article discusses the wonderful work that has been done by President Mnangagwa in various places around the country.

A close analysis of President Mnangagwa’s donations to the people around the country proves him to be a selfless national leader who lives by his word. He lives as per what he preaches. When he got into power, he stressed that no place in Zimbabwe will be left behind and today we see him putting into practice what he uttered to the nation. There is no province in Zimbabwe that is not feeling the presence of President Mnangagwa. He runs around the whole country to ascertain that no place is left out. The media recently carried news of wonderful donations done by the President to Solusi University. He donated farming equipment and a bus to the university. The donation is worth a lot of money showing the seriousness of the state leader. This donation comes at a time when in Matabeleland North, there is a big project that is being implemented which again was initiated by President Mnangagwa. This refers to the initiation and construction of Hwange Teachers’ College in Hwange town.

Zimbabwe has various teachers’ colleges in various provinces but Matabeleland North was unlucky to remain without a teachers’ college since independence. When President Mnangagwa got into power, he opened Hwange Teachers’ College in Hwange town. The college is an annex of the United College of Education in Bulawayo.

The opening of the college is directly the implementation of President Mnangagwa’s policy which states that no place should be left behind. When the college was opened, some people thought that it was the joke of the year but this year, 2022, the college has managed to present its first breed of students who have written their final examinations and are looking forward to graduating soon.

This shows good leadership on the part of President Mnangagwa as he promotes the education system and promotes the Education 5.0 Philosophy. President Mnangagwa listened to the cries of the people of Matabeleland North who had no teachers’ college since 1980 and he, working with other leaders from Matabeleland North such as Dr Obert Mpofu and Mr Believe Gaule and others, opened Hwange Teachers’ College for the people through the government’s devolution policy.

Today, the province celebrates the presence of a college. What a listening President the country has! That is why people believED Mnangagwa.

The opening of Hwange Teachers’ College by the Second Republic under the leadership of President Mnangagwa, is another direct act of implementing the devolution policy. Indigenous languages such as ChiTonga, ChiNambya and IsiNdebele are now taught at Hwange Teachers’ College and permanent lecturers for those languages have been appointed by the Government to lecture in those areas.

Research is now conducted in those languages and this shows great respect for the people of Matabeleland North by President Mnangagwa and the ruling Zanu-PF party. The question that may rise here is; What shall stop President Mnangagwa from being a President of choice in Matabeleland South, Matabeleland North and countrywide with these good works that he has shown? What can stop Zanu-PF from being a party of choice among the people of Matabeleland North and countrywide?

Big questions are coming to the nation today. If President Mnangagwa and his Government have brought a college to the people in Matabeleland North and on the other hand Nelson Chamisa and his CCC party have brought sanctions to the people of Matabeleland North, can the people of Matabeleland North vote for the sanctions in 2023 or they will vote for a teachers’ college? Can lecturers at Solusi University neglect their President who gave them a bus and farming equipment and vote for sanctions in 2023? Can lecturers at Hwange Teachers’ College neglect their President who will construct a college for them and vote for sanctions? Can Hwange students vote for sanctions and neglect their President who gave them a college?

Common sense says it is impossible for the people of Matabeleland North and Matabeleland South to vote for CCC and its sanctions on the people. Surely Zanu-PF and President Mnangagwa remain the people’s priority party and priority President respectively. The reason why lecturers have never gone on job industrial action during trying times is because they believED in the President and the Second Republic. The lecturers at the college, like other colleges, have never participated in any industrial action to query salary structures. This is because the lecturing staff believED Mnangagwa when he promised that no place will be left behind. With President Mnangagwa on the steering wheel, Zimbabwe is surely headed in the right direction.

Many lecturers at Hwange Teachers’ College are quickly joining the Lecturers for E.D (LED) movement and this is a sign that President Mnangagwa has a lot of support at Hwange Teachers’ College. We therefore call upon all Hwange Teachers’ College students and lecturers to support President Mnangagwa in 2023. We also call upon all LED members to support the growing college of Hwange.
