BUSINESSMAN and socialite Wicknell Chivayo, warmly known as Sir Wicknell has been a subject to internet trolls, following his marriage announcement to Sonja Madzikanda about a fortnight ago.

The trolls poked fun at him saying that even though he had all the money in the world, his wife’s history was known to them.

One Frank Onismo Ziyambi wrote on his wall, using unpalatable words, that Wicknell had money but his wife had a history.

The post has since been shared on various social media platforms, with many people calling for Sir Wicknell to respond.

“He’s been deep fried! There is no way he can recover from this,” wrote one user.

The post was however, removed possibly because of its scathing content.

Sir Wicknell about a fortnight ago paid lobola (bride price) for fiancée, Madzikanda, according to a post on his Facebook page. Chivayo boasted that he would be disappointed if his in-laws charged him less than $50 000 for lobola in a Facebook post before the event.

According to close sources, his fincee is an accountant at a Harare firm. His fiancée’s father works at the University of Zimbabwe while her mother is a manager with a commercial bank. The family lives in Chisipite in Harare.

Without giving out whether he was made to pay more than $50 000 as per his desire, Chivayo described the day as best in history.

“Till death do us apart. A good woman is the greatest thing a man can have in his life. Glory be to God in the highest. Thanks to you my Facebook followers, your strong criticism and comments always give me strength to make good decisions like this’” posted Chivayo.

“My roora (bride price) function was the best in history (credit to my amazing in-laws and brand new wife). This is why I chose the Peter House and University of Edinburgh class, with my Unit M Seke background where and how would I have ever planned this? I hope to invite all of you to my big wedding soon. We give thanks and praise,” read some of his posts.

Veteran musician Oliver Mtukudzi also took part in the event.
