HARTSFIELD Tshisanyama has established an exchange programme with Botswana, where both countries will, after every fortnight, be co-hosting each other.

Last week the leisure spot hosted a crew of Botswana DJs in an effort to add variety and spice to their entertainment line-up. 3D events manager Mduduzi Mdlongwa said bringing Botswana entertainers was not a way of looking down upon the local DJs but a way of establishing relationships with other countries.

“We have established a partnership, where our local DJs go and entertain people in Botswana and their DJs do the same here. In some way it is opening doors for our DJs to get more money from what they do because playing there pays a lot. At the same time we will be acquiring skills from other people who are best in the industry so it is gaining experience while getting some money.

“We have had about two events there so far and we have learnt a lot, there are about two of our DJs who have gone there, DJ Slamma and DJ Kananjo and a few of the local promoters and they had a great experience. We are looking forward to having more events with Botswana and hope we will exchange more of their DJs as partners,” said Mdlongwa.

One DJ from Botswana — Bonno Ngaka known as DJ Colastraw said he had a great time in the country.

“Bulawayo surely knows how to party and the reception in the city was amazing. Entertaining the crowd was not much of a hustle because it looks like we appreciate the same style of music. I am looking forward to my next gig in Bulawayo around December before I head to the Victoria Falls Carnival where I will be playing on 31 December,” he said. — @ruekushie.
