MATABELELAND South Province has started preparations for the Zanu-PF Thank you rally to be addressed by President Mnangagwa on a date yet to be confirmed.

Speaking yesterday in Gwanda during a preparatory meeting that was attended by members of the Zanu-PF Matabeleland South Provincial Coordination Committee and Provincial Development Committee, party provincial chairman, Cde Rabelani Choeni urged various stakeholders to work towards making the event a success.

“The President is coming to Matabeleland South Province for a Thank you rally but the date is yet to be confirmed. In the meantime can we activate our planning committees and start planning for this rally.

“We have to work with so much speed and precision so that we can have a well planned and well organised event,” he said.

Cde Choeni expressed gratitude towards civil servants in Matabeleland South Province for the effort they put in making last year’s Zanu-PF Annual National People’s Conference a success.

Speaking during the same meeting Minister of State for Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs, Cde Abednico Ncube said it was the duty of all stakeholders to ensure that the rally became a success.

He called on all stakeholders that were involved in the planning phase to put up a united front.

Cde Ncube urged all districts to mobilise transport and ensure that people from all parts of the province attend in numbers.

“Zanu-PF is a united party and that’s what makes it successful. Likewise we appeal with all stakeholders whether be it political leaders, war veterans or civil servants to be united.

“As Matabeleland South we are known to be an organised and united province and let’s show this through our works.

“The Government which is being led by the Zanu-PF party is for everyone and we have to support it,” he said.
