A KWEKWE family has made a passionate appeal for information that could lead to the whereabouts of their relative who reportedly went missing in March under unclear circumstances.

Pauline Moyo (35) reportedly went missing together with her daughter Zinhle Ndlovu (11) after they were reportedly subjected to attacks and night raids by people suspected to be aligned to the ruling party, Zanu-PF.

The Zanu-PF supporters were attacking the family at their Amaveni home seeking the whereabouts of her husband, Mqondisi Ndlovu who was a known member of the Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) operating in the Kwekwe district.

In an interview, Moyo’s aunt, Samkeliso Ndlovu revealed that they were now worried about the family’s disappearance.

“What is queer about this issue is that my brother, Mqondisi Ndlovu was the only one who was active in politics. Moyo used to stay with the children at their rural home and would come to Kwekwe just to visit. Now, after my brother disappeared, people from Zanu-PF started harassing her accusing her of hiding her husband.

“She was also followed and attacked right at her rural home. Initially, when she disappeared on 15 March we assumed she was with relatives but we then realised that no one knew where was, together with her daughter, her other daughter, Melody Moyo is in Plumtree, but she is now also worried about where her mother and young sister disappeared to,” said Samkeliso.

The aunt revealed that they had reported the matter to the police but no one seemed to want to assist them hence them approaching the media to assist them.

“It is honestly worrying because these people now abandoned their house in Kwekwe and to be honest no one would just sit when their relatives just disappear like this. We do not know what happened to them and appeal to anyone who could assist us to please assist,” said Samkeliso.

Contacted for comment the police confirmed having received a missing person’s report but declined to divulge more information.
