On the subject of altars Church altar

The Sunday News

Greetings beloved nation in the name of Jesus Christ. Many believers have no knowledge on the subject of altars because of ignorance. Their lives, families, businesses and ministries have been destroyed unknowingly because they lack a true understanding. When you talk about this subject a lot of believers will tell you that it’s an Old Testament subject.

It’s because they don’t know the meaning of an altar or its definition. It is unfortunate that the people who are not born again know the meaning and they believe in the satanic altars and they use them and they work for them. While the church is arguing about everything. When we look into the New Testament, the word ‘altar’ is there. We see that even our very own father God has an altar before his throne as we see in Revelations 8:3, “Then another angel, having a golden censer, came and stood at the altar. He was given much incense that he should offer it with the prayers of all the saints upon the golden altar which was before the throne.”

Bible

As long as we don’t have the true understanding of this subject, we cannot rule in the midst of our enemies. Many people’s lives are controlled in wrong altars which are satanic. Let us define what an altar is. (i) An altar is an elevated place or a structure that is dedicated either to God or to the devil. It’s a consecrated place. (ii) An altar is a gateway between the spirit world and the earth. If it is of God, it is a place of angelic trafficking and if it is of the devil then it is a place of demonic trafficking. (iii) An altar is a place of sacrifice. If it is a demonic altar, its where evil sacrifices are done eg ‘umthethelo’ Altars are power bases.

In other words, people draw power from altars. You are as strong as your altar. The weaker you are, it is so with your altar. Your spiritual level is manufactured in your altar. Altars are raised to validate claims. It means when Satan has raised his altars, he has a claim in that area. So as believers the battle of families, communities, cities and nations is the battle of altars. Whoever wins determines whose altar is stronger.

The subject of altars is a broad subject. For us to experience a breakthrough in our lives we need to know how to deal with these altars of our father’s households. In Judges 6:12-13, 25, 26 the bible says, “And the Angel of the LORD appeared to him, and said to him, “The LORD is with you, you mighty man of valor!”13 Gideon said to Him, “O [c]my lord, if the LORD is with us, why then has all this happened to us?

And where are all His miracles which our fathers told us about, saying, ‘Did not the LORD bring us up from Egypt?’ But now the LORD has forsaken us and delivered us into the hands of the Midianites. Now it came to pass the same night that the LORD said to him, “Take your father’s young bull, the second bull of seven years old, and tear down the altar of Baal that your father has, and cut down the [g]wooden image that is beside it; 26 and build an altar to the LORD your God on top of this [h] rock in the proper arrangement, and take the second bull and offer a burnt sacrifice with the wood of the image which you shall cut down.”

We see in the life of Gideon that before Gideon had to deal with the Midianites he was asked to first destroy the altar and idols that were raised by his father because this altar could affect what God wanted to do with Gideon. Many believers are trying to get breakthroughs in their lives. They are seeing things that brought their fathers down also affecting their rising because they have not dealt with those altars.

Let us not forget that an altar is a place of sacrifice and a place where covenants are established. Before we raise an altar to God, we need to know how to deal with negative altars and come out. Many of God’s altars are neglected by God’s children because many believers are busy, they have no time to pray. Do you know that you yourself can be a living altar? Wherever you go you carry the presence of the Lord. So an altar is not limited by a place, you as a believer are an altar of God. What goes up determines what will come down from heaven.

Many people ask questions like; why is the devil ruling in our families, marriages, businesses and cities? It is not God’s fault, it’s our fault because we are not servicing our altars.

But we thank God that the end time church is rising to their position, a church that understands intimacy with God. We see in the book of 1 Kings 18 when Israel was under a drought for 3 ½ years and there was no rain. In 1 Kings 18:30 we see Elijah beginning to repair the altar of the Lord that was broken down, meaning Israel has stopped serving God. So meaning they were no longer servicing the altar of Jehovah, so there was a cut of the flow of God’s blessing upon their lives or upon the nation.

They were now servicing the altar of Baal which could not save them. The moment we stop serving God and start following strange gods, heaven will close on us. When we go back to serving the living God, we will begin to experience the blessing that we have never seen before as individuals, families, churches and nations. We see Elijah building an altar in the name of the Lord. My question is whose name your altar is built. Let us not forget as we are living in this world, there are certain altars that are speaking over our lives, families, churches and nations.

The question is are these God’s altars or are they demonic altars. We have two choices; if it is of God, we will begin to experience an abundant rain. If they are ancestral altars, they are not of God and we will begin to experience drought like in the book of 1 Kings 18. Let us pull down and tear down that which is not of God so that we experience victory and breakthrough. May the altar of God arise in our families, cities and nations. God bless you all.
