UNITED Kingdom-based maskandi sensation, Sisasenkosi flew Zimbabwe’s flag high by bagging three gongs at a glamorous Miss Culture World UK 2017 event.

Organised by The Cordillera Connection (TCC), a United Kingdom-based organisation which works under the ideology that although people are separated by geographical or ethnic-socio-cultural boundaries, but they can be united in working out things for the common good was held at South Kensington in London last week.

Zimbabwe’s own, Sisasenkosi, was among the seven finalists namely Gretchen Fedcheck (Mt Province, Philippines), Rachel Araujol Arauj (India), Feliza Vaz Feliza Vaz (India), Janice Suarez (Cebu, Philippines), Pinky Baido (Tadian, Mt Province, Philippines) and Kysha Biroczki (Manila, Philippines), who represented their respective countries.

Sisasenkosi was astonished at being awarded First Runner-up Award, Miss Congeniality Award and Best Talent Award at a prestigious ceremony in which the Amahlolanyama hit-maker could not hide her happiness.

“Miss Culture World UK 2017 was the best, I cannot believe I scooped three awards. I am proud to represent my culture and my country. Thank you to everyone who voted for me including the judges,” she said.

Sisasenkosi said Miss Culture World UK 2017 brought by TCC was designed to celebrate cultural diversity.

“The competition aimed at promoting various cultures which is part of The Cordillera Connection’s charity objectives; the preservation of culture, arts, and heritage. That was the reason we were supposed to wear clothes that resembled our cultural traditions during the voting procedure,” she said.

People might struggle to remember the sensational star, maybe because of her down to earth status, but to thousands of Highlanders FC fans, she needs no explanation; in 2016 she released a foot stopping hit titled Amahlolanyama which she dedicated to the famous black and white club.

When asked if she was involved in any upcoming projects, Sisasenkosi said there was something in store for the fans.

“This year was truly amazing; it all started with Amahlolanyama video receiving tremendous support from home fans, and now I have bagged Miss Culture World UK awards. As part of my appreciation, I have been long preparing a surprise for the fans slated for December. They should be patient because the surprise is going to be something special,” she said.
