Vocal Ex is set to start the New Year with a concert which will be held at Bulawayo Amphitheatre tomorrow.

The concert will also feature Takesure Zamar, Eric Moyo, Joyous Celebrations’ Ayanda Shange and Avis Dlamini.

Speaking to Sunday Life, a representative from the group, Blessing Sitotombe said the concert was an opportunity for the local Christian community to come together in celebration of the past year and in anticipation of the new year.

“The objective is to have people gather to celebrate and worship God in song for the New Year. Christians do not have so many platforms during the festive season to gather and celebrate as the body of Christ, so we have taken this time to invite all believers to gather and celebrate with us,” he said.

The concert is running under the theme Worship Altar Festival 2017 and it is from the concert that the second Vocal Ex DVD will be filmed.

“As Vocal Ex, we are bringing our worship to the Altar as the New Year begins. Vocal Ex will also be recording their second live DVD on this day,” said Sitotombe.

This New Year’s concert is the second of its kind, the first was held in 2015 and tickets for the five hour concert are available for sale at different outlets around the city.

Vocal Ex is a musical group of 24 young people from around Bulawayo which was formed in 2013. It is led and directed by Thembelani Mdlaziba and Eric Moyo.

Vocal Ex is motivated to carry a message of unity, hope, peace and love of God with a vocal authority thus ministering the word through song across nations.

Over the years, the group has had shows around the country and launched their first DVD which was well received from members of the public.
