MARSHAL Chiza’s story began a few years ago, after notably making a record of being the youngest author to emerge from the city and perhaps the country, known in history.
At just age 19, he has written four books, of which one has managed to land a $50 000 contract with a United Kingdom-based publishing company.
A librarian by profession, Chiza seeks to break new ground, as he recently ventured into the music industry, with a track set to be released at the end of the month.
Today, popularly referred to as the Billionaire Chiza says his motive behind diversifying was driven by the desire to reach out to the world.
“As an inspiratory, I found that lately there has been a drop in the reading culture, with people preferring to watch TV or listen to the radio. So I decided to reach out to more people through music. I am not abandoning my book writing, but I am just merely diversifying and exploring other talents,” said Chiza.
He said the track — Billionaire would be released at the end of November this year, as it is presently being produced and mastered by one of Bulawayo’s top hip-hop emcees POY.
“The lyrics in the track are derived from my latest book, Before I become a Billionaire, which he launched in South Africa a few weeks ago. At the moment I am working on one called “Journey to billions”. The lyrics in the track teach and touch on life training aspects. I believe that you can do anything if you focus and put your mind to it,” said Chiza.
He said the track was part of his plans to reach out to the world in inspiring people to flourish.
“I am sticking to my plans of being a motivational person and at the end of the day if people like the song I hope they can get a copy of my books.
He said his musical name would be Billionaire, which sprung from his books. -@peterkmatika
