ZANU-PF District Coordinating Committee (DCC) for Hwange on Friday cleaned around Ward 1 and Ward 6 in Victoria Falls as part of the ruling party’s local leadership’s  campaign strategy ahead of the March 26 by-elections.

The DCC used the clean-up to parade candidates Cde Tonderai Mutasa for Ward 1 and Cde Bekithemba Mlotshwa for Ward 6 and solicit for votes from the electorate.

The wards became vacant following recall of Ms Marguerite Varley (Ward 1) and Mr Ephias Mambume (Ward 6) by MDC.

Members from all party districts in Victoria Falls cleaned the central business district, along Gibson Road, Wood Road, Square Cummings Road and Reynard Road in Ward 1 as well as Sinemane and One Way in Ward 6.

Various clean-up exercises took place around the country  as the nation continues to embrace the call by President Mnangagwa to dedicate every first Friday of the month for cleaning surrounding environment.

Hwange DCC Secretary for Commissariat Cde Elias Muzamba and Maqhawe District Secretary for Administration Cde Clement Mukwasi organised the clean-up, and members were addressed during the exercise about the importance of campaigning for the party’s candidates.

“We had a clean-up that went well. Our aim is to be visible in the wards as a party and campaign for our candidates.

We want people and electorates to know that we are a party that values cleanliness and conserving the environment.

“This is part of our campaign strategy where besides talking to people, we do activities quietly for people to vote Zanu-PF in the by-elections set for March 26,” said Cde Muzamba. — @ncubeleon
