IT is said a woman with a voice is by definition a strong woman. That is the tale of a South Africa- based Zimbabwean writer Nomakhosazana Ndlovu who recently released a book titled Millennial Woman which is meant to uplift and empower one of the vulnerable people in the society.

The book has seen her being nominated in one of the prestigious awards, Zimbabwe Achievers Awards (SA) under the category author/writer of the year.

In an interview with Sunday Life she said the book discusses gender socialisation.

“My book Millennial Woman discusses issues of women empowerment, gender socialisation, friendships and romantic relationships. Briefly that is what the book is all about,” she said.

She believes that her book will inspire people to do things that they want to do.

“I have high hopes that through my writing I can inspire people to do things that are close to their hearts which they always had burning passion to do,” said Ndlovu.

Writing has always been on her bucket list since early days.

“Writing has always been something that I have always wanted to do since childhood; many times people tend to shy away from things that they love because some think it’s too big for them so this book is going to evoke action in people to get out of their comfort zones and work hard,” she said.

She also acknowledged the fact that people have lost the culture of buying copy books because of the digital dash but it remains important.

“I am very happy and grateful for the nomination and it is making me emotional, just talking about it.

When I first got the news that I was nominated I could not believe it because of people whom I was nominated with because there are veterans in that list (Thabisile Matshazi, Sue Nyathi, Sphetheni Ncube and Ronald Muringai), so for me being nominated alongside them is a dream come true,” she said.
