ZIMBABWE picked up their second win in the Victoria Cup rugby competition with a 31-26 win over Uganda at Legends Rugby Club in Kampala yesterday.
The Sables, who beat Zambia 39-10 in their opening fixture in the four team competition in Harare two weeks ago scored five tries to see off the Ugandans by five points.
Shayne Makombe, Aiden Burnett, Takudzwa Kumadiro, Matthew McNab and Blithe Mavesere scored the tries for the Sables. Skipper Hilton Mudariki kicked in three of the five conversions.
The Brendan Dawson-coached Sables raced to an 18 point lead against the Rugby Cranes in the first half and never let that advantage slip away to record their second win over Uganda in Kampala.
Next up for the Sables is a clash with Kenya at Hartsfield on Saturday where they will look for their third win in a row.
