United Freedom Party (UFP) leader Pastor Godwin Zivavose has called on Africans to work together so as to overcome challenges being faced in the continent and create a brighter future for generations to come.

In his Africa Day statement, Pastor Zivavose said Africa is a continent of immense diversity, with over 1.4 billion people living in 54 countries, each with their unique culture, history, and traditions.

He said by celebrating Africa’s cultural heritage, it can promote greater understanding and appreciation of Africa’s diversity and contribute to a more inclusive and tolerant world.

“Africa Day is also an opportunity to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the continent. From the music of Fela Kuti to the literature of Chinua Achebe, African culture has had a profound impact on the world. By celebrating our cultural heritage, we can promote greater understanding and app.

“It is a celebration of Africa’s diversity, progress, and potential. As we celebrate this day, let us remember the achievements of the past and look towards the future with hope and optimism. By working together, we can overcome the challenges facing the continent and create a brighter future for all Africans,” said Pastor Zivavose.

He said Africa is a continent of immense diversity, with over 1.4 billion people living in 54 countries, each with their unique culture, history, and traditions hence despite the challenges of poverty, inequality, and conflict, the continent is also a place of innovation, creativity, and resilience.

“The OAU was established with the goal of promoting the unity and solidarity of African nations and to work towards the political and economic emancipation of the continent. Today, Africa Day is a celebration of African diversity, culture, and progress, and an opportunity to reflect on the challenges and opportunities facing the continent.

“Over the past few decades, Africa has made progress in many areas. The continent has experienced economic growth, with some countries achieving sustained GDP growth rates of five percent or more. Africa is also home to some of the world’s fastest-growing cities, and urbanization is reshaping the continent’s social and economic landscape, said the UFP leader.

He further noted that Africa has made significant strides in health and education, with improvements in life expectancy and increased access to education and healthcare.

“Despite these challenges, Africa is a continent of immense potential. With its youthful population, abundant natural resources, and growing middle class, Africa is well-positioned to become a major player in the global economy. In addition, Africa’s cultural diversity, creative industries, and rich history make it a vibrant and dynamic place to live and work.

“As we celebrate Africa Day, it is important to remember the achievements of the past and to look towards the future with optimism and hope. By working together, African nations can overcome the challenges facing the continent and create a brighter future for all Africans. This can be achieved through greater economic integration, investment in infrastructure and education, and the promotion of good governance and democracy,” said Pastor Zivavose.
