A MAN from Cowdray Park in Bulawayo used sausages to lure his churchmate to his house where he allegedly raped her before kneeling down and begging her not to tell anyone. It is alleged that the man went to the girl’s aunt where he asked her if she wanted sausages that were at his house and he suggested that the girl accompany him to collect them. The girl is aged 15.
Question Magaso (38) appeared before Western Commonage magistrate Mr Temba Chimiso facing rape charges.
He was remanded in custody to 20 June for trial. Prosecuting, Mr Mufaro Mageza said on 3 June the girl was at her grandfather’s tuckshop together with her aunt.
“While she remained inside the tuckshop her aunt went outside to talk to Magaso who had just arrived. Magaso then asked the aunt if she wanted some sausages that were at his house.
“Magaso asked the aunt if he could go with the girl to collect the sausages at his place and she agreed. She ordered the girl to go with him and she complied. When she got into the room, Magaso closed the door and started touching her. The girl tried to resist and screamed for help but Magaso overpowered her. He then ordered her to lie down facing upwards, pulled her dress off, had sexual intercourse with her once, without her consent and without protection,” said Mr Mageza.
After raping her, Magaso begged the girl not to tell anyone about what had happened and he did not give her the sausages that he had promised her aunt.
“The girl reported him to her aunt. The matter was reported to the police and she was referred to the hospital for medical examination,” said Mr Mageza.
